Cassia. Ky. Xander. This is the third and final book in the Matched trilogy which introduced us to Cassia, the lovely young lady heading to the arena to see her Match as determined by the Society. Luckily for her it was Xander a boy she has known forever and someone who is her best friend. Oddly though when she logs in to see more about her Match a different face flashes across the screen and this too is a face she knows although not well.
Cassia, Ky and Xander have waged a war against the Society and all of its mysteries, rules and expectations and now they find themselves in the midst of a virulent plague still struggling to understand who they can trust, what they have to offer in the turmoil and finally to reach the full understanding of the true match among them.
The story alternates between the three points of view so we follow the journey of Xander as he uses his healing gifts and searches for his authentic Pilot. Ky seeks Cassia while searching for the truth about their new version of the Society created when the Rising came into its own. With the Plague evolving to an untreatable form, Ky, Xander and Cassia will all carry heavy responsibilities. Cassia will need to reach back into her memory to conjure the wisdom bequeathed to her by her grandfather and mother.
Who will survive? Who is the real Pilot? Is the Rising a better version of the Society? Will Cassia finally reach her true match? This is an adventure, science fiction, romance story decorated with characters who seek to grow and be the best version of themselves in a society that seeks to control, contain and homogenize. Hmm....
