Ranger's Apprentice, Book 8: The Kings of Clonmel

It is the time of the annual Gathering, where apprentices are given their silver oakleaf and made full fledged Rangers. It wasn’t so long ago that Will was one of them. This year, Will is looking forward to seeing old friends and his mentor, Halt. However, Halt is off investigating a group of religious fanatics, the Outsiders, in his old land, Hibernia. Led by a man named Tennyson, the Outsiders promise protection, riches and eternal happiness in exchange for a considerable monetary donation and blind obedience to their God… whose vessel just happens to be the leader himself. The cult is spreading and needs to be stopped. Unfortunately, the current king of the region is ineffectual at best, and has made an agreement with the false prophet to rule as his puppet while Tennyson becomes the true power behind the throne. Appointed to a special committee by Crowley, it is up to Will, Horace and Halt to save Hibernia from the religious fervor gripping the land and quite possibly restore the monarchy to its former power. Revelations about Halt’s past are revealed and the makings of an epic battle ensue. Fast paced and action packed; this is one not to be missed. 400 pages Ages 9-14
