A groundbreaking, gorgeous board book that uses photographs of flowers to introduce children to the rich variety of color - for ages 2 to 5
This unique book is the first to fully explore the enormous variety of shades colors have, going far beyond the basic colors that are usually introduced to children in early concept books. Showcasing seven stunning floral arrangements, with a flower key at the back of the book, and clever gatefolds as well as search-and-find prompts for interactivity, fold-out pages open to reveal beautiful arrangements of flowers, in a variety of hues, organized in gradation, showing the extraordinary of rich variety of color in the natural world. The book features seven color pairs to illustrate the full spectrum, revealing the astonishing range of shades found between familiar colors - and showing how colors connect to one another.
This, the debut children's book by New York's go-to florists Putnam & Putnam, the acclaimed floral design studio who are also the bestselling authors of the ground-breaking Flower Color Guide and Flower Color Theory, features their own acclaimed photography, taken specially for this book.---from the publisher

This book stands out. Pure and simple this one is head and shoulders above in the teaching colors to children world. Where some books give you a spoonful of a color on a page, this one drenches you in color. With each turn of the page you get an explosion of blue or an explosion of red and so on. The child's senses really get soaked in the color - the concept that this is a color and this particular color is yellow or purple is very, very powerfully delivered. Plus this is just a joy to look at for the adult who might be the lucky one who decides to share this one with their little one. I love to give this as a gift to 2s and 3s and 4s. It's just astonishing.
