Pirates Don't Change Diapers

Pirates Don't Change Diapers

The pirates are back! It's the usual thing at Jeremy Jacob's house. His father is asleep and his mother has gone to the store and that means Jeremy Jacob is left to watch his little sister, the baby, who is having her nap. There is a knock on the door and when Jeremy Jacob peeks out through the peephole, he sees Captain Braid Beard and company arrived bearing their figurehead, nose smashed, and in need of the treasure they buried in Jeremy's backyard. With all the shouting about TREASURE, the baby wakes and a great cacophony of sound results. What is all that noise the pirates demand to know. "That's Bonney Annie, " says Jeremy Jacob and he announces to the captain and crew that they will now have to join him in trying to keep the baby quiet. They will have to babysit. Pirates are not naturals at the task. They struggle with the whole diaper thing, make a durned mess with the strained spinach, and have their own ideas about rocking. Will they ever get to digging for treasure? Combine the rowdy, rollicking cast of yellow-toothed pirates, a baby from Whoville and plenty of wide-eyed wackiness and you've got a hilarious, highly entertaining read aloud to be treasured by all.
