Here comes a classic book from Anita and Arnold Lobel with a Caldecott Honor sticker on the front.  Using delightfully intriguing illustrations, this story takes us on a shopping excursion down Market Street.  We've brought enough money to buy many, many wonderful items and the best part is we'll be making our way through the alphabet as we stroll and buy.

Every letter is a figure and they will surprise and delight.

For the letter A we buy Apples, for B it's Books.  C is Clocks and D is Doughnuts.  You see how it goes.  Each page is a study in books, clocks, shoes, toys or vegetables.  The day passes quickly and by the time we get to Z we are worn out and probably out of money too! But it was time and money well spent.  With a zingy twist at the end we all crawl off to bed.

A wonderful book to share one on one with a favorite child who loves to examine each page and find the interesting things.  Just look at all those shoes!
