Jake Wilde who attends a posh private school in Switzerland finally succeeds in getting himself suspended. He is headed to Wintercombe Abbey to confront his guardian Oberon Venn, about the death of his father. Jake is convinced that Venn killed him and is going to do whatever it takes to get the answers he wants.
When Jake arrives he finds that things are way beyond anything he could imagine. Could his father just be missing in another time? The Obsidian Mirror is there and Venn tells him that his father traveled through it and never came back.
The hunt is on! The Obsidian Mirror is hunted and wanted by many people. Some to use it, some to steal it and some who want it destroyed. Who can you trust and believe and who should you be frightened of?
The time is just before Christmas and during a solstice blizzard five storylines will collide as each person pursues their quest for the mirror. Just when you think the answers might be revealed the mystery grows deeper.
There is a lot of action and suspense in this book. The plot lines move fast and sometimes you have to step back and organize them again but the story is intense and leaves you waiting for book two.
