No T. Rex in the Library

No T. Rex in the Library

What a great book to read at the beginning of a new school year or any time you want to share the joy of books and taking care of books with children. Meet young Tess and her mother who are visiting the library. Tess sits down to enjoy her books but suddenly erupts with a roar and a snort. Her mother says, "Time Out! and leaves her for ten minutes. In those magical ten minutes the wonder of books is unleashed. A very large and very energetic dinosaur squeezes himself out of the pages of one book and starts charging left and right with Tess bouncing along like a rodeo cowgirl the whole way. Characters emerge from the stories around them launching pirates and cowboys and knights all trying to tame the dino and get control of the library. Throughout Tess is urging the dinosaur to be careful with the books but when it comes to a very loud RIIIPPP, she draws her line. That's it-the dinosaur is now in Time Out himself. What a great way to show children how noisy, rambunctious behavior in the library might seem like fun but really doesn't work out and books need to be handled with care. Great read aloud. 32 pages Ages 4-7
