Nick MacIver lives out on a Channel Island off the coast of Great Britain in 1939. His father, a lighthouse keeper, is working with other locals to monitor the presence of Nazis in their geographical area. A very self-reliant ,young twelve-year-old, Nick along with his sister, Kate, find a treasure chest washed up on the shore, guarded by a cantankerous red parrot. The treasure chest has Nick's name on it. If you love adventure, you're in for a double treat here because Nick travels back to the time of Admiral Lord Nelson and some fabulous swashbuckling. At the same time, a valiant man, Hobbes, assisted by Kate, takes on some pretty dark and diabolical Nazi spies in the waters near Nick's home. The story alternates between the two adventures. This is good stuff.
