"Just how big can a little kid dream?" is the question asked by this playful new book that stretches the limits of a young boy's boundaries as he gallops through his day. As he rolls out of bed, Alexander hears his father tell him to get ready for breakfast and a game of ball. But Alexander answers quite emphatically that his name is not Alexander. Quietly amused, the father asks then who is going to go out and play ball with me? Alexander has become "Theodore, the greatest, grandest president who ever was!" The patient father is game and rolls with it telling the newly anointed Theodore to stay put and save his energy. But Alexander alias Theodore is not done exploring his possibilities. He is going to morph into more great men including Chief Joseph, Fred Astaire, Thomas Edison, Jackie Robinson and then perhaps the best of all, Daddy! The collection of men is curious but that may be a good thing because there may be a few trips to the library or at least onto the computer to find out just who some of these fellows are and their widely ranging ethnicities may awaken some awareness about diversity, acceptance and respect for all.
