My Best Friend

It's summertime and sitting at the side of the swimming pool, six- year old Lily has her eye on her new best friend to be, Tamika, and is determined to play with her and win her over. But Tamika is all of seven years old and she and her friend Shanice think they are way too old and way too big to play with a little girl. Tamika and Shanice make fun of Lily and won't share with her. Lily is frustrated and determined. Then the day comes when Shanice is not at the pool and Lily has her chance to play with Tamika. The girls share their snacks and have fun playing together. The next day Lily comes to the pool expecting to play with Tamika again but finds she and Shanice are once again joined at the hip. Friendship can be very complicated as Lily is finding out this summer and three girls can offer some real challenges to self-esteem and acceptance.
