The Mallory series continues. This is a great series for girls who like to read about girls in various situations. It's a bit of what I call "social reading" just because Mallory is usually involved in some sort of personal or relationship issue. Being eight was a tough year for Mallory because she had to move away from her very best friend. As her ninth birthday approaches she decides to start things off in the right spirit by making plans for a whole month of birthday celebration instead of just one day. A few ups and downs ensue. If you're trying to wean a girl off of Junie B. Jones, this is a good place to start. Read Mallory On Board to get a feel for the storylines. Ages 7-10 155 pages
