The Mallory series continues. This is a great series for girls who like to read about girls in various situations. It's a bit of what I call "social reading" just because Mallory is usually involved in some sort of personal or relationship issue. Sometimes new situations and experiences come with a bit of anxiety and in this story Mallory is not so sure she wants to join the gang at summer camp. Her best friends reassure her and off she goes but things don't turn out the way they described and now it's going to be up to Mallory to overcome her issues and make herself at home in this different environment. If you're trying to wean a girl off of Junie B. Jones, this is a good place to start. Ages 7-10 170 pages
