Grand Nanny Penguin has gathered all the little penguins together on the ice to hear a story of long ago. Once upon a time there was a little penguin who didn't listen and went off into the wide world to seek adventure and fun. As Grand Nanny Penguin tells the tale, off in the distance there is a little penguin who also seems to have gone out into the world for adventure and fun. He's sliding down icy slopes and having a grand time.
The little penguin in the story meets walruses and gooney birds and he sings and dances and is the life of the party. Then, he falls asleep just next to the deep dark ocean and a great big killer whale gets him in one bite.
Oh the hue and cry that comes from the little penguins who are listening to the story. Okay, Grand Nanny Penguin doesn't want everyone to be so upset so she's changes the story to a few missing tail feathers and a narrow escape. Funny, how the little penguin who was off in the distance is missing a few of his tale feathers too!
