It's just two days before Christmas on this little island off the coast of Maine where Frances and her little brother, Peter, live with their father, the lighthouse keeper. They are the Ledge Light family. But it's hard to feel the wonder of being family when the sugar is all gone and the wind and waves are pounding on the windows and doors. Will Christmas be able to find them in this remote and forbidding place? Father stands strong in his duty to ships in distress but offers Frances and Peter the chance to go spend Christmas with their Aunt. Choices must be made. Hearts must be searched. The story has some wonderful layers to it and many rescues may have to be made as the tale unfolds. A heartfelt visit to the "things" that make Christmas the important celebration that it is intended to be combined with a bit of history and adventure weave a wonderful family story for Christmas time or any time.
