's words

Lala is a rough and tumble girl. Every day she loves to dash out of her house and race down the sidewalk, around the corner, and past the fence to the dirt and concrete patch where some weeds are pushing up into the world.  Lala brings them some water especially on the hot days but every day...every single day...Lala brings them something they need even more.  She brings them her kindness, her care and she opens her heart to tell them how wonderful they are.

Lala's mother is not a fan of rough and tumble.  The words that come from Lala's mom are not her kindness, her care and she is not opening her heart to tell Lala how wonderful she is.

Good grief....how many people need to be reminded that our words are so powerful. Our words can make a person glow and grow and our words can make a person droop and drag.  We and our words can make a huge difference in lives of others and our own lives.

Lala is a beautiful little light.  This story is a gift.  Read it to those you care about and read it to remind yourself to meet every person every day remembering Lala and the power of kind words.

By the way, you are marvelous. You are wonderful.  Look at you!!!!!

Oh, there goes Lala! She carries a pot of water around the corner, down the block, and over the fence, to a patch of dirt and concrete where tiny weeds sprout. "Hello, hello, friends!" she whispers. Lala waters the plants every day, but it is her kind words that make them sway and nod.

Lala's wild nature and quiet compassion enchant in this evergreen story about the power of kind words and the magic of being loved for who you are.---from the publisher
