This was the first "serious" book by Gordon Korman that I have read. His fans will not be disappointed with this story of three teen boys from different detention centers who are given a second chance by Douglas Healy who was a juvenile delinquent when he was young. Their second chance is living together in an apartment in New York City in an "alternative living situation" with Mr. Healy.
After Mr. Healy is knocked unconscious and awakens in a hospital with amnesia, Gecko and Arjay fear being sent back to the detention centers. Can they convince Terrence to stay straight? Can they pull off pretending that Mr. Healy is still supervising them?
