Jonathan has a best friend named Frederick who goes everywhere with him and who truly understands him the way only a best friend can and Frederick is a stuffed bear. Sadly, Jonathan’s parents decide that he is too big to have a stuffed animal and they trade Frederick for a toaster. Determined, Jonathan sets forth into the world on an old veteran blue tugboat and stop by stop, adventure by adventure, he finds himself with a crew of like-minded souls be they goat or whale. Together, and that is the all important word, they are open to the journeys of others and the power of joining hands as we travel about the world. Not the usual found the lost teddy adventure story by any means and keen-eyed children will explore the illustrations with fascination. Ages 4-7
