When Ivy and Bean see a ballet book and learn all about how the ballerinas get to cavort, they decide they too will don the tutu. Their parents have a different idea. Seems Ivy and Bean have a long history of saying they want to try things ...things that cost money... and they never stick with it. But this time the begging pays off and Ivy and Bean triumphantly head off for their ballet practice. Their joy is short-lived and things head down hill fast.
The ballet lessons really are not living up to the ballet book and now the girls are stuck in some less than exciting roles in the upcoming ballet recital. How will they get out of this one? As usual, the humor and the problem-solving will enchant and delight as these original, unusually clever young ladies learn a whole new life lesson. Ages 5-9 136 pages 978-0811876667
