A Category 5 hurricane sweeps through La Rupa, a small town in Honduras, in 1998. Mudslides take many lives, and young Jose has to step up to take care of his own family and the neighbors, who are huddling together in the aftermath. Faced with a lack of food, water, and electricity and surrounded by death, Jose has to rise up to face more disaster when his younger brother, Juan, becomes very sick.
