Daisy has flown to England to escape from the war that has broken out in the USA. She has left life on 86th street in New York City and finds herself being driven out to the farm by her 14-year-old cigarette- smoking cousin, Edmond. It's the world of the future with the war spreading closer and closer and the resources dwindling all around them. Edmond is special, and he comes to mean something intimate to Daisy.
