Hope Was Here

Hope Was Here

Sixteen year-old Hope and her Aunt Addie have driven up to Michigan together. They are family for each other as Hope's mother has gone to California to find herself. How easy is it to give up in life when things get tough? Ages 10 and up. This book is in my top five.

Well, the two get jobs at the diner in town, and as they work, they meet some amazing people who are willing to risk and to fight for doing the right thing. Incredibly heart-warming! This book is a 2001 Newbery Honor Winner.
