Here's a great folk tale from Liberia.   Long ago Head was all by himself. He noticed some cherries on a tree and wondered how he could reach them. He was tired of eating grass and mushrooms and things that are low to the ground. But what could he do?  Then, he looked up in a tree and noticed two Arms up there. Eventually he met Body and Legs.   Little by little they all figure out that if they all work together everyone can get what he and she needs.

A great read aloud for teaching the importance of working together and valuing each member of the group.  A great multicultural read aloud too!
