In this early chapter book, Anna Hibiscus is a young girl who lives in “Amazing Africa”, with her family and her extended family. Her mom is from Canada and her dad is Native African. Her world is surrounded by cousins, aunties, uncles, grandparents and of course her twin baby brothers. They all live together in a little white house in the village. Anna’s world is about to become much larger, for she is traveling around the world to Canada to spend Christmas with her “Granny Canada”. The fourth book in the series, Anna explores a new country, culture and the experience of teaching diversity to her new- found friends, which just so happens to include a dog!
The soft line drawings add a nice touch to Anna’s adventures. Recommended for Ages-6-10
