Halloween rolls around every fall and we all put up the decorations and don the costumes but maybe for the youngest among us, it needs a bit of explaining. That's what this gentle book offers with its young character celebrating the fun of it all. Opening with an explanation that Halloween is all about ghosts but not real ghosts...just the fun of dressing up like a ghost the book introduces us to Hallowen traditions and let's us watch and see just what it's all about. "Woo-hoo," The illustrations, closely resembling the ones that might be hanging on your refrigerator, create a friendly feeling with their primary colors and big smiles. Follow this young lady along as a Halloween party invitation arrives, she makes a present for her friend out of a balloon, and she puts on her costume and hunts for ghosts in her friend's house with her very own flashlight. (What a great idea...I'm going to remember that for my grandchildren.) Simple, fun and reassuring. Great for young children. Ages 2-6
