This is a good one. Seventeen-year-old Larry is trying to do two things: first and foremost he is trying to save the world; secondly, and certainly of great importance, he is trying to have a, shall we say, close relationship with Beth. To save the world Larry pares down his possessions to 75 items. That's all he'll allow himself, and he goes online to communicate to the world about materialism and the value of thrift, as opposed to striving for an opulent collection of things. He really starts a movement around the planet which includes "Larryfest" and, eventually, a crisis. Romance and humor round out the whole thoughtful yet entertaining adventure. There's a sequel, Vote For Larry, in which Larry campaigns for the Presidency. Illuminating.
