The power and wonderfulness of this book is that it takes the beginning reader into new territory and for me, it starts that longer neural pathway to words that are more and more complex. Gets the engine revved up. You can see the light come on as the kids see that you can start a word with an "s" that is simple and also that is "big." Big plus- it's fun and kids can play this themselves at home.
