Flat Stanley On Ice (I Can Read Level 2 Reading With Help)

If you haven't met Stanley before, you need to know a little about him before we begin this adventure.  Stanley Lambchop lives with his mother, his father and his little brother, Arthur.  Stanley is four feet tall which is cool but he is only a half an inch thick ever since "a bulletin board fell on him."  If you think about half an inch, it's probably about as thick as this book.  That's why they call him Flat Stanley.

It's winter time and a bunch of Stanley and Arthur's friends are heading over to the skating pond.  Stanley wonders if he will be able to skate because now that he is flat, he can't wear ice skates.  Stanley steps out onto the ice wondering if his feet will work just like skates.

It's a great day to skate and soon they are all having a wonderful time until it's starts to get warm and even warmer and pretty soon Stanley realizes he is the only one left skating on the ice and the ice is starting to crack.  Will Stanley be able to get back to safe ground? Who could help him?

A wonderful book about brothers, being different, finding out your own special qualities, problem  solving and just plain old having fun. It will make children think about how they might have solved the problem while they laugh and enjoy the light touches that give this book its kick.
