Some of us are lucky enough to have a young person/s in our lives who ask questions and whose minds are constantly searching for answers about how the world works.  They don't stop at "look at the garbage truck."  They want to know how it works, how the garbage team does its job and where it's going next.

That mind is about to get blown.  The author, Margo Linn, of EVERY HERE HAS A THERE really "gets" these kids and she has written a book to reassure them that they can get answers to their mighty questions.

This book opens with a map - gives the listeners the "big picture" of what is about to unfold. Genius. See that book in your hand right now?  Well, how did it get to you?  What were all the steps?  Yep, it's about boxes of books leaving Asia on a large ship as cargo and what the steps are between the boxing up and the opening of the book at your house.  Using opposites all along the way, we follow the books across the globe.

But even bigger it explains how all those amazing containers get on cargo ships- we're talking big cranes here.  What is the loading process?  Where does the ship's captain work?  And... wait for it... what's it like to go through the Panama Canal on this ship? New York City here we come.

I'm telling ya- this one is amazing in its understanding of the young sponges who need this big picture stuff and all the little pieces and steps that come together to get cargo from here to there.

I can't wait to hand this to my 6 year old friend.  Thanks Margo- write us another one please.
