Character-Building Curriculum

On a rainy day in Ireland a dog finds his way to an old man homes but the old man is snarly and pushes him away even though the rain is coming down in a torrent and the man is all alone. The old man talks to himself and reassures himself that he is best off alone with quiet neighbors and his own quiet wishes. Then a memory of having the dog warm his cold, sore feet visits him and he opens his door and heads off into the storm looking for the dog. When the dog sees him, it gives him a welcome only a dog can give a human being. Utter joy. Together with the old man still grumbling the two walk home. Man and Dog. Friends forever.
