This is a beautiful book about a hot, hot, hot day in the city and a young African American girl who is hoping, hoping that it will rain. Will that thunderstorm come? She and her two friends are watching the sky and doing their rain dances. Then, those wonderful gray clouds come rolling in and even their mothers come outside to celebrate the wetness and the coolness and the wonder of nature's refreshing shower.
