**********

Fourteen-year-old Nessa, a student at the Boyle Survival College in Ireland, is waiting.  At any moment she or any of the other students around her may suddenly disappear.  When that happens everyone will know and everyone will wait in horror to see if she has survived and how she has been tortured.  It's known as The Call of the Sidhe and these high school students are being trained to escape, to defend themselves and to fight against whatever the horror and torture will be that comes to claim them.

Students do return after having experienced The Call.  Some are hideously disfigured outwardly and some have changed deeply inside of themselves.  The practice exercises can be brutal themselves especially for Nessa who is escaping into the forests on her crutches as a result of having had polio earlier in her life.

The danger comes from beyond the known world but at the Boyle Survival College there is darkness waiting even among the students themselves.  Bullying, hatred, discrimination and intrigue swirl by day and Nessa is a prime target.

Horror, fantasy and self-reliance come together to create a creepy, dangerous, horrifying world where friendship matters and truth is just out of reach.
