brenda is a sheep

One look at the front cover and you know this one is going to be a hoot.  Brenda is a sheep and clearly Brenda is posing on the book cover smiling fangs and all. So what will the shenanigans be?

Yes, Brenda is wearing a lovely wooly sweater.  Her sheep friends have accepted her and they all love her and even want to be like her.  Brenda meanwhile is digging through the old recipe book if you know what I mean.

If you are a seasoned reader, you more than likely know a little timeless classic called Wolf's Chicken Stew.  This is a kissing cousin to that one.

The fun of this is going to be reading it aloud to a young child and watching them figure out pretty quickly what is going on.  They are going to pick up on the whole wolf/sheep thing and they are going to be pretty excited about wanting the sheep to know what's going on.  The tension will mount and the question will be - who is going to win this one - the sheep or the well-sweatered wolf?

**************

Tale that turns the "wolf in sheep's clothing" story right on its head, and shows kids that things are not always as they seem.

Brenda is exactly like all the other sheep. Well, except for the sharp teeth, gray fur, sharp claws, and orange sweater. All the sheep think that Brenda is just the best! Despite Brenda's best efforts to enjoy the ultimate sheep feast, Brenda realizes that she is, after all, a sheep. A funny reminder that what you look like doesn't dictate who you are.---from the publisher
