Sometimes even when you are big, having a cold can make you feel little.  These are the times when you don't feel like watching tv or shooting baskets.  You feel like you want your mom and you want her, oh, like every three minutes.

Today, Louie feels just that way.  This brown-skinned young fellow, this "Punkin," takes matters into his own hands and/or vocal cords and yells, "Mom."  Well, to him he's yelling "Mom" but to his slobbery dog he is yelling, "Bob."  So, Bob the dog shows up.

The next day things have gone even more downhill.  Louie wants Mom.  Louie gets Bob.  Louie tries to explain himself.  "I doan wan by bedicine.  I doan wanda bubba bat."  And on.  Well, you get the idea.  The cold has taken over Louie and no one can understand him.  He just wants his mom.

This is a hilarious story about being sick and needing to be comforted and loved.  Turns out Louie has one of the best moms in the world.  Reassuring for any child of any age.  This is a beautiful reminder that sometimes it might seem like people aren't listening or don't see what you need, but when you can tell them, they really want to show up and give you all the love they have inside...even Bob.  A GREAT read-aloud.
