"Do you think the new kid took it?" You know you can't just take stuff. That's a no-no. Benny and Penny are trying to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Benny's pail. They are peering over the fence into the new neighbor's yard to see the new neighbor and maybe even to spy Benny's missing pail. They fall over the fence and there are footprints....and they look like monster's footprints. Is the new neighbor a monster? These two mice are about to meet a hedgehog who is busy making mudpies. Benny gets pretty pushy about his pail when he sees it in the neighbor's sandbox. Much to his dismay, he also sees it in his own yard when he heads back home. Does that mean he's just stolen the neighbor's pail instead? What a great first impression he's just made. This is a simple, lively, gently illustrated graphic novel with enough brother-sister arguing and enough mistakes to keep any young reader interested. The Geisel Award winner in 2010.
