Baron Braun is a Mohawk Indian and small for his age. Asa and his cronies constantly bully him at school. Now the whole class is headed for outdoor education, and Baron is dreading it. As soon as the bus pulls into the camp, and Baron sees the staff, he starts to get a funny feeling. The feeling grows and blossoms when he hears his teacher, Mr. Wilbur, sharing his own misgivings to one of the other teachers. Who is this Walker White Bear who is supposedly a Native American? The suspense builds.
