Artsy-Fartsy

Hey! Who drew girly stuff in Aldo’s new sketchbook? He hid it in the secret tree fort on the way to (ugh) baseball practice – what a way to start the summer!

When his artist grandmother gave him a sketchbook, she told 10 year-old Aldo to draw what he saw, so here’s his best friend Jack (the rockhound) and their dogs and everyone at the pool and all that stupid baseball stuff (his big brother is the sports star, not Aldo) and his smart neighbor Mr. Mot who must know every word in the world.

Now Aldo and Jack don’t care about girls, but they have to figure out which one keeps drawing in the sketchbook – Aldo isn’t the only ‘artsy-fartsy’ person in the neighborhood after all. Indoor-loving Aldo draws and writes as he reluctantly hikes, bikes, and plays ball through the Colorado summer as the friends try to solve the mystery.

Wimpy Kid fans will enjoy this graphic novel journal that includes lots of fun “a” words with kid-styled definitions. The alphabetical series continues with Bogus and Cahoots. 153 pages
