Eleven year old Zelly Fried is the girl no one invites to their sleepover. So, her best friend comes up with a great idea. If Zelly has her own sleepover and invites everyone over, then they'll invite her back when they have their sleepovers.
Problem is Zelly's parents don't make it easy for her. The bargain is that Zelly has to take Ace, her wild puppy, to dog obedience training and he has to pass the test before Zelly gets a sleepover of her own.
So take one wild puppy, some really gray areas about fitting in and being friends, and toss in a Grandpa Ace who is grieving his wife and shouting out Jewish phrases just about every time he opens his mouth.
Funny. Sensitive. Caring. Story worth reading.
