Wanda Petronski hasn’t come to school today. No one notices. They don’t notice she’s missing until Wednesday because Maddie and Peggy wait for her to “have fun” with her, only the fun they have isn’t so fun for Wanda. Maddie and Peggy love to ask Wanda about her hundred dresses. They know she doesn’t have one hundred dresses; Wanda only has one dress and she wears it everyday. They love to ask her about how many shoes she has, too. Then, one day, a note comes to the teacher. Wanda won’t be coming back to school anymore.
