Margaret and Maizon (rhymes with raisin) are best friends. Margaret looks up to Maizon who seems to know everything. She knows how to dance the latest dance and she has all the answers. But, this is a summer of change. Margaret is about to lose her father to a heart attack and then she finds out Maizon has applied to go away to a boarding school in Connecticut. Margaret hopes and hopes that Maizon won't get accepted. Sometimes when change comes, it brings hope and teaches strength. In the hands of Jacqueline Woodson you wouldn't expect less. Powerful and deeply etched, the characters connect and search and bloom with grace.
