The Mallory series continues in this the sixth book. This is a great series for girls who like to read about girls in various situations. It's a bit of what I call "social reading" just because Mallory is usually involved in some sort of personal or relationship issue. In this story Mallory is worrying about being left out of her friends world because her friend Joey's father is now dating her friend Mary Ann's mother. Will Mallory still be an important friend? Change turns out to scary for others as well and Mallory is able to overcome her fears. Valentine's Day rolls around too and Mallory finds out she has a special friend. If you're trying to wean a girl off of Junie B. Jones, this is a good place to start.
