Baby Wombat has started a diary of her daily life. She begins with Monday and a rip-roaring day of slept, slept, slept and woke up. Then she bounced. Mother Wombat is not too keen on the bouncing and sends Baby Wombat out to play and smell and explore. There Baby Wombat meets a human Baby and the two strike up a great friendship. All of this is carefully documented in the diary. The action of this book takes place along a line of illustrations on the bottom of the page and the diary entries stream across the top to keep us informed. Then, Mum decides that their hole is too small. So the two babies pitch in and help dig a bigger hole and then they find a great hole. But someone steals it. The quiet humor of this book is enough to get you laughing out loud. The diary entries are simple and the illustrations merrily roll the story along. An absolute delight. 32 pages Ages 4-8
