A great book for alliteration. One beautiful day a cabbage caterpillar laid her egg on a cabbage leaf and wished her baby courage and contentment. Then she flew away. Inside the egg Clara Caterpillar grew and grew. But she did not want to come out. She was quite content. A crowd of caterpilars gathered around her egg waiting for her to appear. A conceited caterpillar named Catisha cattily murmurs that when Clara emerges she is going to be a very plain caterpillar unlike the flashy bright Catisha. But sometimes being plain can be very powerful especially when it offers a bit of camouflage. Ages 5-9 40 pages
