The Very Quiet Cricket

I can't wait to read this one to my two year old grandson. The other day we were walking in the park and we heard the sound of the cicada and I had no way to explain to him what he was hearing. Now I do because the little cricket in this book is meeting and hearing insect after insect. Each one has its own way of greeting except for the cricket who cannot seem to make his voice heard. He rubs his wings together and rubs his wings together and then......the wonderful little book actually chirps! The illustrations are classic Eric Carle. This is a five star winner.
