Muffy is the new girl at school, and she quickly becomes Francine's best friend. They are different though, because Francine has a reputation for getting into trouble, and Muffy is the teacher's pet. One day it's time to take a test, and Muffy hasn't studied, so she copies all the answers off Francine's paper. Mr. Ratburn, the teacher, thinks Francine is the culprit and believes Muffy when she says she didn't cheat. Francine has to stay after school every day as a punishment for something she did not do.
