Flat Broke: The Theory, Practice and Destructive Properties of Greed

Kevin, star of Liar, Liar, returns with a cash flow problem this time. His parents have cut off his allowance since the lying episodes and his part time jobs have dried up. Now there is a dance coming up at school and Kevin would love to take the beautiful blonde, Tina.

How will he get the cash to buy the tickets for the dance? Kevin's first foray into business is to set up some poker games - he gets a cut of the winnings for being the logistics guy. Appetite whetted, Kevin goes in search of bigger game.

Using the occasional bathroom humor and thinking like a 14 year old, Gary Paulsen entertains while he empowers his character to risk. Clearly Kevin is a big idea man whose time just has not come. Meanwhile he's developing one entrepreneurial adventure after another and eventually he's moved into the catering business, the hair waxing business and the jewelry business. Think he's going to make his first million any time soon?
