Fourteen-year-old Elliot Schroeder's dream has come true. He has been selected by NASA to be the first Junior Astronaut to actually go up in space. His parents want him to stay on the ranch and continue the family traditions. Vincent Ole Tome is a fourteen-year-old Maasai boy, who has been educated at the wood school where he has learned English and many new ideas. But the rains have ceased to come and many animals are dying. Vincent has been sent back to herding and has had to leave his dreams behind.
