And they're off and running.....but it's not the racehorses. Nope! Luke and his father have gone to the park for a walk and Luke's dad has run into a friend he wants to talk to. "Blah, blah, blah." Luke is bored and looks around for something entertaining. And he finds it in the shape of a flock of pigeons. And they're off as Luke chases the flying pigeons through the park and out into the streets. He's running so fast it's like a big wind blowing everything in sight as he charges along through the streets of New York. The man who is proposing with the diamond ring in the box gets blown away and so does everyone and everything else. It's a mad, mad, mad world out there, you know. Finally the pigeons fly high and Luke climbs up a fire escape ladder and takes a nap on a rooftop. This is not your garden variety early reader and what a relief to find something so entertaining with so few words. It's a graphic novel.
