Poppleton is settling into his new home in his new town and finds himself beset with neighborliness. Cherry Sue, a llama, just keeps inviting him over for meals. Poppleton doesn't know how to say no without seeming to be rude. In the second story, Poppleton sets up a routine of going to the library every Monday but friends keep inviting him to special events during this sacred time. His reading time is very important to him so Poppleton finds himself with a problem. And finally, Poppleton's friend, Fillmore the goat, has come down with a bug and refuses to take his medicine. Well, he'll take it if Poppleton hides it in a piece of cake. Surprise... Fillmore eats every slice except the one with the pill in it. An entertaining early reader.
