Witch's Child

Rosina, a witch, decided she had everything she wanted in life except a child. So, she made herself a daughter, Rosalie, out of straw and leaves and clumps of hair. She tried and tried to bring Rosalie to life but to no avail. She gave her all the toys a child could want. She lured children to play with Rosalie. But nothing worked. In a rage she tossed Rosalie into the dustbin. Autumn arrived and a young girl named Lina wandered into Rosina's house and found Rosalie. She has something to give to Rosalie that no one has ever given her before. Love. A bit of Hansel and Gretel enters into the story at this point. This is one of the better modern fairytales that I've found. Very poignant and it reaches right in to you. Love is what our children need.
