A mother cuddles a baby as she stands in front of the window looking out at the trees, birds, and flowers. Turn the page and though this is a wordless picture book, it speaks loudly. Slowly as the years pass and the baby turns into a boy and then a man, the view out the window changes and the natural world is replaced by development and civilization. When the boy becomes a father himself, he too stands in front of the window in his own home in the country and looks out with his own babe in his arms. He is surrounded by the natural world as well but for a sign: Home Blocks For Sale. And so the cycle continues and the natural world slowly disappears right before our very eyes. Ages 5-9 32 pages
